Hi everyone, I hope you are all safe and well.
I’ll keep this nice and short this week as it feels very much the same to last week.
We continue to look at the global COVID situation and the figures in the USA for example are horrific but expected.
In Australia, cases in Victoria continue to grow at 100+ per day so that state has gone into lockdown again with some apartment blocks being surrounded by police to keep them in.
Here in WA we are much the same as last week, we have about 12 cases, all from people entering the state. All are in quarantine and none requiring hospital care.
My family and me are all ok. I am looking forward to next weekend possibly being the start of phase 5 restrictions, which would mean pretty much the end of crowd limits for all events. We could go to the football or see a band. This all depends on the rest of the country though and we may yet end up going backwards.
This last week has been tough due to a very dear friend of ours who has cancer going from a possible 6-12 months to live to a matter of days. It’s impossible to know what to say in this situation and my heart goes out to her husband who is a great friend of mine. Also my Mother-in –Law who has a heart condition fell down and hit her head on Monday and had to go to hospital overnight. Her long-term outlook is not good. These things help you to remember that while this pandemic is horrible, there are plenty of other nasty things going on.
It's not all sunshine in Australia
On a brighter note, last Friday both kids were away on sleepovers with their friends so Espe and I chilled out. I cooked a 3-course meal and we relaxed. Also on Sunday, all of us went out to the pub for dinner with a few friends - it’s been a while!
I haven’t had to go away for work and looks like I wont need to for the next week so for now, life is good and I have another Formula 1 race to watch this weekend.
Please look after yourselves and stay safe and remember it’s often the small things that keep us sane and make us happy.
Cheers
Si.
